March Madness

This month flew right by and nary a post in sight. I got caught up in the NCAA Basketball Tournament and watched my Arizona Wildcats destroy the hated Duke Blue Devils. That was fun!! They had UConn on the ropes only to frantically turn the ball over too many times and give the game away. Yet, we still had a shot to win it but missed 2 shots and a tip-in at the end. Great season nonetheless and Sean Miller is doing big things in Tucson and has impressive recruiting classes put together for ‘11 and ‘12.

As far as who’s going to win overall? I’m pulling for VCU.

Other than that, I’m digging Isaiah 52-54 and am blown away at how profound this Book is and how relevant it is today.

Mad Men on Blu-Ray is inspiring. The writing, directing, and acting are all exemplary. Man, this show is legendary.

The MPC has been on fire lately and I’ve knocked out 3 absolute bangers. We’ll see if someone laces them soon otherwise I’ll post the instrumentals on YouTube soon.

Holla if you hear me.

And the Oscar for Best Tweets goes to…

INCREDIBOLT Delay

INCREDIBOLT was posted on YouTube and immediately received positive feedback before being pulled from YouTube for copyright infringement. Now I’m not saying I own either The Incredibles or Bolt because I obviously do not, but I was surprised that amidst the hundreds of videos featuring clips from both films my video was the one removed. Is it because mine was really good? I did spend a looooooong time working on it. I did not seek to make any money off of it. If anything, it was a labor of love and inspiration for Pixar and Disney. Perhaps you could even call it a demo reel. Yet it got yanked almost immediately while the others conspicuously remain.

I digress.

What will become of INCREDIBOLT? I still plan to post the soundtrack. After all, Disney has has no claim whatsoever on the dope hip hop music composed by myself. Stay tuned for more news…

February went by in a flash and I didn’t even post once? Yikes! I wrote the Green Bay blog but posted it shortly after it hit March 1st. Anyway, much to talk about in the near future.

Green Bay Packers: Super Bowl Champions

I’ve been a fan of the Green Bay Packers my entire life. Growing up in Milwaukee, I endured a grip of 4-12 seasons watching Lynn Dickey, James Lofton, Mark Murphy (as a player), Brian Noble and many others as we struggled to even have a winning season. Ron Wolf and Mike Holmgren came in the 90’s and created a complete culture change overhaul and an eventual champion. We won Super Bowl XXXI and appeared in another. Along the way, a certain gunslinger QB made a name for himself and won the hearts of Packers fans everywhere.

Those times have come and gone and now we have been blessed by another Pro Bowl QB named Aaron Rodgers who endured immense scrutiny and second-guessing by nearly everyone. Ted Thompson was vilified by many for having the courage to draft Rodgers and then jettison the Silver Fox after his ego had completely superseded the stratosphere. Thompson and Mike McCarthy put together a championship caliber team mainly through the NFL Draft (Clay Matthews, Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, etc.) and by adding a few key free agents like Charles Woodson and Ryan Pickett as well as UDFA’s Tramon Williams and Sam Shields. Mike McCarthy built an offensive juggernaut and Dom Capers’ installation of the 3-4 defense hit its stride in its 2nd season smothering opponents at every turn.

Despite a staggering 15 players on the Injured Reserve list, the team came together and got on a impressive streak winning streak as the regular season was nearing a close. They won at home against the NY Giants in a dominating 45-17 performance and then securing a playoff spot the following week on the road against our hated rivals the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field 10-3. Everyone anticipated the Bears resting their starters at some point because they had secured the #2 seed and a bye. They didn’t and they should have because they LOST! Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

The following week the Pack went into the Linc in Philly and beat the Michael Vick hype machine Eagles 21-16 to advance to the next round against Atlanta in the Georgia Dome.

The Falcons were the #1 seed in the NFC and thought by many to be the best team in the postseason. The Packers destroyed the Falcons 48-21 and the game was over after Tramon Williams’ 70 yard pick 6 INT thrown by Matty “Slush” going into the half. Aaron Rodgers showed why he is one of the best QB’s in the NFL with 31 of 36 for 366 yards passing and 4 TD’s (1 rushing).

Rodgers Falcons Killer

The NFC Championship Game and the Halas Trophy was poetically housed in Soldier Field. Chicago’s defense was strong and a cheapshot helmet-to-helmet personal foul by Julius Peppers on Aaron Rodgers took him out of his rhythm. A pick 6 INT by B.J. Raji thrown by the anti-clutch Jay Cutler was the difference as the Packers won 21-14.

Super Bowl XLV

Super Bowl XLV would be played in Jerry Jones’ funhouse in Dallas against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Two of the most storied franchises in the NFL going head-to-head was a dream matchup for the league. Green Bay got off to a big lead highlighted by Nick Collins pick 6 INT thrown by Ben Roethlisberger.

Seeing a pattern yet? Our secondary is the best in the NFL. Charles Woodson broke his collarbone on a fantastic defensive play and Sam Shields suffered an injury the subsequent play. Things were not looking good defensively for Green Bay but thanks to the extra long and extra awful haltime performance by the Black Eyed Peas, Dom Capers was able to put together a plan to compensate for the injuries to key starters. Aaron Rodgers was masterful in a MVP performance and the defensive backups played brilliantly as Green Bay held on to win 31-25.

Clay adn Aaron SB Champs

“Celebrate good times! Come on!!!” Kool & The Gang may not have been the group blasting from my speakers (actually it was Lil’ Wayne’s “Green & Yellow”) but the celebration was on and it felt awesome!! It FEELS awesome!!! I’m extremely happy especially for the veterans like Woodson and Donald Driver (also hurt during the game) to finally win a ring. Greg Jennings giving the glory to the Lord was the icing on an absolutely delicious cake.

Next year we want another one!!!
